Profile

“I was born in Empoli, a few km from Florence, and since the very beginning my relation with nature has been an important part in my daily life. After my high school degree in Agriculture, I continued to study earning a Summa Cum Laude Doctorate in Agronomy at the University of Florence. I loved so much oenology that I have decide to carry on my studies with a Post-Doctoral course at the University of Bordeaux, France, giving particular attention to the production techniques and sensory analysis of wines.

I have always been stimulated by the comparison of different wines area and for this reason I have decided to experience life and work in California, at the Robert Mondavi Winery and, after, in New Zealand at the Villa Maria Estate. I continued travelling a lot in order to discover the different areas histories, characteristics and experiences in producing wine. Since 2000 I have been working as a consulting oenologist in the Matura Group, collaborating for many projects all over Italy, making great experiences.
At the moment I am a member of the tasting commission for DOC and DOCG at the Camere di Commercio of Florence, Prato and Siena.

My aim is always to exalt in each wine the tradition of its lands, the typical characteristics of the vineyards and the uniqueness of its producers
